China is preparing to inaugurate its first regular container shipping service along the Arctic route between its ports and those of Western Europe with the 4,890 teu Istanbul Bridge.
On Se ptember 20, 2025, the Istanbul Bridge, a container ship operated by Chinese shipping company Haijie Shipping Company, will depart from Qingdao. Its destination is the first regular container shipping route across the Arctic Ocean, the China-Europe Arctic Express.
