Lisbon harnesses AI to map and scale solar installations
To accelerate capacity and unlock Lisbon''s solar potential, the city''s CAP 2030 project set a goal of achieving 103 MW of photovoltaic capacity.
all available roofs had PV, the solar electricity produced would represent 95% of the city's electricity consumption in 2016. 4 MW PV installed in Lisbon, of which 23% were licenced under the microgeneration regime, 42% under the mini-generation regime and 35% in the self-consumption regime.
The primary goal of the Lisbon Solar project is to promote production of electricity for purposes of self-consumption. It includes introduction of these policies for both the public and private sector. The funds allocated for this project reached around 500 million euro, which presents 36,3% of total investment funds until 2026.
Lisbon is no different. The project Lisboa Solar, presented by Mayor Carlos Moedas, is following this trend. Lisboa Solar is part of a broader strategy called the Great Options 2022-2026 Plan, also known as GOP. The primary goal of the Lisbon Solar project is to promote production of electricity for purposes of self-consumption.
4 MW PV installed in Lisbon, of which 23% were licenced under the microgeneration regime, 42% under the mini-generation regime and 35% in the self-consumption regime. The 4 MW PV installed capacity corresponds to 322 systems, of which 78% are microgeneration systems, 3,68 kW being the most common interconnection capacity declared per system.
